The human is a complex and generally unruly being and is in need of restriction. Boundaries of various kinds are necessary for human stability and progress but on the other hand can be imprisoning and the cause of limitation of human spirit and ambition. As with all other things a balance has to be struck to allow individuals and nations to prosper and achieve true freedom and progress. The boundaries that limit human freedom are analogous to those that limit national freedom. The individual human is part of humanity as a whole as a global family and nations are a part of the world physically and in every possible way. Those who limit their and their people’s freedom and prosperity are living not only in colonially defined physical and socio-economic cages but also in colonially created mental-spiritual cages.
